New Car Smell

So.
I've been in New York for a little over a week now. And the typical battles have been fought.
My feet hurt. I'm broke. My phone died today. Twice.
I'm exhausted. I'm stressed. I'm broke.

There are so many things about this city that can be changed. Add some benches. Put in some outlets. Get the people some wifi underground. Sweep the damn streets.

Did I mention I'm broke?

No. New York is not the greatest city on Earth. But the energy is like nowhere else.

The ambition. The dreams. The positive thinking. (from numbers unprecedented)
The freedom of doing anything, at anytime, whenever your feet decide to take you there.

This all makes a thick cloud of energy that ignites the air with electricity that cannot be seen. The air is full of it. It's that and the general hum of the city that numbs you a little bit because of how much everything is moving and making noise.

Every second, your mind wonders, "what next?" What circus will pass me on the street next? What parade of foreign beauty will grace my eyes with their wonders? What am I doing tonight?
These infinite options keep the fire burning and keep your dreams changing...
keep your senses and talents adapting.

This energy is so powerful and thick and massive because millions of people
are each making their own energy and their own noise.

And the light can be seen from space. (It's true, google it.)

Im tired. But everyday this energy pushes me. Nowhere else but this city provides that.
And that is why I moved here. Can I get an amen?
